These are aerial views of the property proposed for the prison site - approximately 1 mile of riverfront!

There are two homes on the property, both of which are visible from the road and the river. There is one "ridge" that stretches between the two homes, a photo of which was published in the Galax Gazette, that is claimed to create a bowl that would eliminate the visability of a 1,024 bed facility.

Verified by years of record keeping, this is one of the cleanest areas of the New River. One plan is to have sewage and water lines run under the New River. Another plan is to draw water from the river, use it and "treat" it and discharge it into the river.
